Now that the school year is coming to a close, you might be thinking about an easy but heartfelt way you can thank your children's teachers for a year of filling your little ones' minds with answers to some of life's biggest questions. Everyone remembers the teachers they had in elementary school, the ones who really made it fun to learn. Don't you wish you'd appreciated them more when you had the chance?
If you want your kids' teachers to know that they've made a difference, an adorable mouse-shaped pencil holder could be just the ticket. These adorable little accessories are easy to make, and they'll be a welcome addition to any teacher's desk! All you need is a little grey tissue paper, some pink felt for the nose and ears, Aleene's® Clear Gel Tacky Glue™ and Collage Pauge® Instant Decoupage.
After you've torn the tissue paper into small strips, dip it into the decoupage glue and affix it to the pencil holder. Add ears, a nose and whiskers using the tacky glue - then twist a pipe cleaner for the tail and secure it to the other side. Voila! An adorable little rodent sure to make kids and adults alike squeak with glee.
If you can't bear to part with your adorable new accessory, make two - one for teacher, and one for your own desk!
