iLoveToCreate®, a Duncan Enterprises Company, announced that it has joined the Healthy Air Living initiative, which aims to improve air quality in Central San Joaquin Valley through a series of eco-friendly strategies.
iLoveToCreate® pledged to a set of rules in an effort to reduce pollution emission, including adopting a clean-fleet procurement policy, increasing telecommuting and teleconferencing and adjusting production schedule on high-temperature days, which are high-pollution days.
Becoming a Healthy Air Living partner is only one of the green actions iLoveToCreate has taken in the years. In 2007, the company reengineered the waste water treatment system to reduce fresh water use. The following year, the online craft supply retailer eliminated lead and lead compounds in the raw materials used to develop their products. In addition, the company has initiated a lighting upgrade project last year and is aiming to save about 200,000 gallons of water through new water conservation projects.
"Social and environmental responsibility has been key components of our company guiding principles and way we operate for several decades," a representative from the company said. "Today we continue to apply actions to support our guiding principles and reduce our carbon footprint that may have an adverse impact on human health and the environment."
