On-the-Go Toy Box

Designed by Kathy Cano-Murillo

Any mom or babysitter knows portable toys are a must-have for short trips. But who wants to bring the entire toy box? Here is a way to bring the best and most compact items in a convenient package. Think – card games, a small sketchpad and crayons, or other small items. I found these small Toy Story 3 action figures for at the discount department store and they made a fun accent to the outside of the box. You can use any theme you want by decoupaging images or printing off your favorite character quotes, like I did here. I think Buzz Lightyear would approve!

Instructions

1.  Divide the box into sections, mark with pencil.  Paint the box by section and let it dry.
2.  Add accents with polka dots, swirls, dashes with coordinating or contrasting paint colors.
3.  Decide where you want to place your objects and quote.
4.  Squeeze a puddle of Collage Pauge onto foil. Dip dry foam brush into adhesive and brush an even coat on back of quote then press in place on box where desired. Brush another coat over top.  Coat entire box with Collage Pauge, let dry.
5.  Add glue to the back of the action figures and set in place. Use blue painter’s tape to hold in place until dry.
