Get ready to dish up some Fourth of July fun with a serving piece your guests will look for year after year. Duncan® Concepts Undgerlazes® and French Dimensions™ turn this ordinary dish into one that’s eggstra-special!

Instructions

  1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
  2. Trace pattern on to tracing paper. Use pencil to trace over lines on reverse side of tracing paper. Place in center of dish.
  3. Pencil over the tracing to transfer image to bisque.
  4. Using No. 4 Liner, paint Light Nautical streaks in the background of the center of the plate. Let dry and then add a second coat. Let dry.
  5. Using No. 4 Liner, paint three coats Neon Red in “Celebrate.” Let dry after each coat.
  6. Using No. 6 Round, paint a clean line of Neon Red around edges of four egg depressions. Fill in with three coats Neon Red. Let dry after each coat.
  7. Repeat steps of painting another four egg depressions with three coats Light Nautical. Refer to photo for placement. Let dry after each coat.
  8. Pour a smaller puddle of Dark Delft on palette. Using No. 4 Liner, paint Dark Delft stars in the remaining egg depressions. Let dry and add a second coat. Let dry.
  9. Test flow of French Dimensions paints on paper towel. If difficult to squeeze out, warm bottle in hands to achieve a smoother flow.
  10. Using the French Scarlet, squeeze scalloped lines around the center circle. Refer to photo.
  11. Using the French Delft, squeeze dashed lines around the outer perimeter of plate. Let dry. Add French Scarlet dots in center of the plate. Let dry.
  12. Add French Delft dots in the stars in the egg depressions. Let dry.
  13. Brush a coat of Pure Brilliance® over the front of the plate being careful to brush a thinner coat inside the egg depressions. Let dry.
  14. Use Fan Glaze brush to apply two coats of Pure Brilliance to back of plate. Let dry after each coat.
  15. Stilt in kiln and fire to witness cone 06.
