Instructions

  1. Wipe all pieces with dampened sponge to remove any bisque dust.
  2. Pour a large puddle of Black on foil or palette. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply three coats to entire inside of bowl and vase, letting dry between applications.
  3. Shake or stir Seafoam Sateen to a smooth, brushable consistency. Pour a large puddle on a clean palette.

Large Vase:

  1. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply three coats of Seafoam Sateen to entire vase, starting approximately 1” down from top. Let dry between coats.
  2. Use the Palette Knife to stir Forest Moss, being careful not to disturb crystals at the bottom of container. Pour needed amount into a paper cup and use the Fan Glaze to brush two coats of Forest Moss on top unglazed portion of vase, letting drying between coats.
  3. Stir crystals at bottom of container into glaze and pour into paper cup. Brush a third coat onto top of vase, generously applying crystals around top and slightly overlapping Seafoam Sateen. Let dry.

Short Bowl:

  1. Brush three coats of Seafoam Sateen in center area of bowl, leaving approximately an inch on top and bottom of bowl unglazed. Let dry between coats.
  2. Following mixing process above, apply two coats of Forest Moss to top and bottom sections of bowl, letting dry after coats. Brush on third coat with larger crystals on top area of bowl for dripping effect and very little at the base to avoid dripping onto kiln shelf. Let dry.
  3. Stilt all pieces and fire to witness cone 06.
