Instructions
- Use pencil to trace patterns onto corresponding color of craft foam then cut out.
- Thread needle with six strands of embroidery floss and knot end. Layer turkey body then add a few paperclips to hold together. Starting at bottom edge, sew an even basting stitch around the entire body of turkey, leaving bottom open.
- Apply a 1” wide swath of FunCraft™ Foam Glue down center on one side of orange breast section and some on the back of beak. Let dry until clear, then press into place on body, referring to photo for placement.
- Start flow of 3D Fashion Paint on a paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Use Black for eyes, True Red for waddle and Golden Yellow for “U” shaped feathers on breast. Let dry then add two small highlights of Golden Yellow on eyes. Let dry.
- Trace and cut tail section from brown cardstock. Arrange leaves on tail section – alternating color and size – to determine number needed. Layer first row half off paper then add another row slightly overlapping first. Four leaves will also be needed for wings. Remove leaves and set paper aside.
- Cover cardboard with freezer paper, shiny side up, and tape excess paper to back.
- To preserve leaves, a coating of glue will be brushed onto each. Squeeze a puddle of Clear Gel Tacky Glue onto foil. Place leaf on a piece of foil to protect work surface. Use DRY foam brush to brush a thin even coating of glue to back and front of each leaf. Place right side up on freezer paper and let dry.
- Flip over each leaf then squeeze a thick bead of FunCraft™ Foam Glue on the bottom half on stem. Let dry until clear.
- Press leaves into place on paper tail section, pressing firmly to secure. Add leaves on body for wings.
- Add a 1” swath of FunCraft™ Foam Glue from center to bottom edge on tail section and along center back of turkey up from bottom edge about 7” or so. Let dry until clear. Press tail onto body.
- Fill water bottle with water to weight it down. Cover water bottle with turkey.
- Tie three strands of raffia around neck into a bow then trim ends.
Optional Idea: Silk Leaves
- Cut separate silk leaves from main stem.
- Use dry foam brush to apply glue to front only of each leaf. Lay on covered cardboard to dry.
- Carefully peel plastic stem from back of each leaf.
- Apply a bead of FunCraft™ Foam Glue half way up along center back of each leaf along the line where the plastic stem was.
- Repeat steps for remainder of project.
