Suzie Shinseki

Suzie works as a Senior Designer at iLoveToCreate®. She has been involved with art since childhood, and her passion has continued throughout her life. She honed her natural talents by attending the Academy of Arts in San Francisco on scholarship, art classes at San Jose City College. She works with various media and substrates. You can find her masterpieces on painted signs, murals, people and animal portraiture, mold design, sculptures, ceramic projects and fabric paint designs. Her commercial endeavors include children’s coloring books, illustrative designs for bags, brochures and cards. Her exceptional illustration skills have brought her many jobs as a fashion illustrator for designers in Hong Kong and Hawaii.

Big Blooms

Celebrate your inner flower child by creating your very own colorful apron for cooking, painting, crafts or gardening. Tulip® fabric paints blossom into life on the white background.

Instructions:

1. Press apron with iron.

2. Cut off sheet of freezer paper the length of apron.

3. Draw only the circles onto freezer paper (refer to photo for placement) using the circle templates.

4. Cut out circles with craft knife.

5. Place freezer paper stencil (shiny side down) on apron and iron in place. Make sure edges are well adhered to prevent paint seepage.

6. Place paper towels under apron.

7. Pour puddles of all three of the neon Soft fabric paints onto palette.

8. Use craft sponge to pounce in the colors of the circles, referring to photo for color placement. Let dry.

9. Trace the floral patterns of each circle on tracing paper. Use pencil to transfer patterns to the appropriate circles on apron.

10. Use Neon and Black Slick 3D paints to fill in the designs. Let dry.
