Je T’aime Tee

No matter how you say it, everyone likes to hear they are loved. And, in French, the language of love, it sounds beautiful. Create a unique tee using Tulip® Tie-Dye Resist and Tulip® Tie Dye for a tee that looks as beautiful as it sounds

 Print

Instructions:

1. Wash and dry tee to remove sizing. Iron a large piece of freezer paper to inside front of shirt to prevent resist from bleeding through to back.

2. Trace words pattern onto another large piece of freezer paper and cut out with craft knife to create stencil.

3. Iron stencil onto front of shirt.

4. Lay out shirt on covered work surface and use paintbrush to fill in stencil with tie-dye resist.

5. Remove stencil carefully and allow resist to cure overnight.

6. Mix Fuchsia dye as instructed. Pour a small amount into large bowl and add water to create a light fuchsia dilution. Test on scrap fabric and add more water or dye as needed.

7. Dip bottom of shirt into dye and hang until excess dye drips away.

8. Hang shirt from hem. Add more dye to the dye bath to create a darker shade, and dip top of shirt into dye.

9. Allow shirt to hang 6-8 hours

10. Wash and dry shirt according to package instructions.

11. Use scissors to alter shirt as desired
