Neon La Calavera Jar

Calaveras are a common image associated with Dia de los Muertos. Now you can create your own functional one for year-round use with the Duncan® Oh Four® Skull Box. Add bright neon colors for a festive design.

 Print

Instructions:

1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.

2. Use the pencil to sketch designs on the jar. Make sure the lid designs line up with the face.

3. Use the Shader and Liner to fill in the eyes Neon Red, then add Neon Orange scallop designs around the outside of the hearts. Let dry.

4. Add accents around the nose and cheeks, the forehead and top of the jar. Let dry.

5. Outline everything with French Dimensions Black Licorice. Let dry.

6. Add the Shimmer Glaze Ruby inside the heart eyes, making sure not to let it touch the Black Licorice outline. Let dry.

7. Use the Fan Glaze brush to pat on three coats of Pure Brilliance Glaze over the Shimmer Glaze. This is so the glitter will not spread. Let dry.

8. Use the Fan Glaze brush to pat on one coat of Pure Brilliance all over the jar – but not on the eyes because you already coated them. Let dry and paint on a second coat, then a third.

9. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
