Spiral Tie-Dye Tote Bag

Put new spin on a plain tote with the Tulip® One-Step Tie-Dye Kit®. Twist your way to traditional tie-dye designs in a few simple steps.

Instructions:

1. Prewash fabric without fabric softener. Do not dry.

2. Prepare soda ash mixture and soak tote in soda ash mixture following package instructions. Do not dry fabric.

3. Cover work surface with plastic table cover. Lay damp fabric flat on work surface.

4. Decide where you want the swirl to be on the fabric. Pinch fabric at this point. Twist fabric around into a flat spiral.

5. Bind with zip ties, creating 6 wedge shapes. Use more rubber bands as desired.

6. Prepare dye following package instructions.

7. Apply dye on wedges. Turn over fabric and repeat on back side.

8. Cover fabric with plastic table cover. Let set 6-8 hours.

9. Rinse fabric in warm water until water runs clear. Remove zip ties.

10. Fill washer to large load setting with hottest water suitable for fabric and a small amount of non-bleach laundry detergent. Wash and dry separately for the first few washes.
