Water Wave Tee

Catch a wave without getting soaked! Stay oh so cool in this Water Wave Tee with Tulip® Fabric Spray Paint™ and Tulip® One-Step Fashion Dye™, then add that must-have sparkle with Tulip® Fashion Glitter™.

  1. Wash tee to remove sizing. Do not use fabric softener.
  2. Cover work surface with Tulip® Surface Cover™. Place damp tee on prepared surface. Using your fingertips, pinch sections of the tee together until tee is all “crumpled.”
  3. Wearing plastic gloves, add water to Turquoise dye bottle to line indicated. Replace cap and shake thoroughly to mix. Squeeze all over shirt. Cover with Surface Cover and let sit for 4 to 6 hours. Wash separately in a large load of water with a small amount of laundry soap. Dry in dryer.
  4. Cut out two pieces of contact paper long enough and wide enough to cover the entire tee.
  5. Place contact paper over the tee and mark off the shape of tee.
  6. Place contact paper on a flat surface and use a felt pen to draw thick, vertical wavy lines.
  7. Place the second piece of contact paper over the first and trace your wave design. You will have two of the same stencil.
  8. Label which waves you would like to be Dark Teal and which ones you would like to be Hawaiian Fizz.
  9. Place stencil on cutting mat/cardboard and cut out all of the wavy lines labeled with the same color, leaving outside edges intact. Repeat for the other stencil, cutting out all wavy lines labeled with the other color.
  10. Remove backing from one of the stencils and place on tee.
  11. Cover work surface with a clean Surface Cover and lay tee on covered surface. Spray inside stencil with first color.
  12. Use a paper towel to gently dab off any excess Fabric Spray Paint™ that may have puddled on tee. Remove stencil. Let dry.
  13. Apply second stencil over tee and spray with second color. Dab with paper towel if needed, then remove stencil and let dry.
  14. Squeeze a puddle of Glitter Bond™ onto foil. Dip paintbrush into glue and use to outline random parts of the waves. Immediately shake on Silver glitter.
  15. Gently lift and tap tee from the back to remove excess glitter from shirt onto a piece of scratch paper. Pour glitter back into container for reuse. Let dry.
  16. Spray over entire tee with Sparking Silver Glitter Fabric Spray Paint™.
