An Ugly Sweater Challenge? I couldn’t say “No” to that, right? Plus, a couple’s challenge. Yes!
What else, but wiener dogs! I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and began a plan.
I picked up the shirts at a thrift store and grabbed the hat, cotton balls and lights at the dollar store.
– 2 Red Sweaters
– 1 Brown Velour Shirt
– 1 Santa Hat
– 1 Bag Cotton Balls
– 2 Battery Light Strings
– 1 Battery Light Ball
Print a pattern – Do a quick google search for wiener dog graphics and print out a pattern. Then lengthen it to stretch across both shirts.
Cut out the wiener dog from the back of the velour shirt.
Glue the cut-out to the shirts with Aleene’s Quick Dry Fabric Fusion, being careful to glue close to the edges to prevent fraying.
Glue the hat to the dog’s head. (I cut mine in half to reduce bulk.)
Push the lights through the sweater around the neck
Glue cotton balls over the base of the lights, around the neck, and at the bottom of both sweaters.
Paint an outline of black around the Santa hat.
Paint an outline of white around the wiener dog.
Paint “Wiener Wonderland” on the dog and let it dry overnight.
Finish it off by pinning a jingle bell to the tail if you wanna “jingle all the way!”
