Suzie Shinseki

Suzie works as a Senior Designer at iLoveToCreate®. She has been involved with art since childhood, and her passion has continued throughout her life. She honed her natural talents by attending the Academy of Arts in San Francisco on scholarship, art classes at San Jose City College. She works with various media and substrates. You can find her masterpieces on painted signs, murals, people and animal portraiture, mold design, sculptures, ceramic projects and fabric paint designs. Her commercial endeavors include children’s coloring books, illustrative designs for bags, brochures and cards. Her exceptional illustration skills have brought her many jobs as a fashion illustrator for designers in Hong Kong and Hawaii.

Witch’s Hand Mug

Instructions:

  1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove any dust
  2. Pour puddle of Dark Black on foil. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply 3 coats of Dark Black to inside of mug. Let dry after each coat.
  3. Lay graphite paper around mug with pattern on top. Trace over design with pencil to transfer image.
  4. Pour a puddle of Light Kiwi on foil and a separate smaller puddle of Bright Kiwi.
  5. Using No. 6 Round brush, apply 3 coats of Light Kiwi to fill in fingers and handle. Let dry after each coat.
  6. Apply 2 coats of Bright Kiwi along inner side of finger to create a shadow. Let dry after each coat.
  7. Using No. 6 Round brush, apply 3 coats of Really Red to fill in fingernails. Let dry after each coat.
  8. Dilute a small puddle of Dark Black with water to a light cream consistency. Dip toothbrush into mixture and use index finger to pull back bristles to spatter witch’s hand.
  9. Apply Pure White for warts. Using Licorice Black, create lines around fingernails, finger joints and warts. Let dry.
  10. Pour puddle of Dark Black on foil. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply 3 coats of Dark Black covering up remaining white areas of mug. Let dry after each coat.
  11. Brush one thin coat of Pure Brilliance to inside mug.
  12. Sponge thin coat over mug. Let dry. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply a second coat of Pure Brilliance to outside of mug. Let dry.
  13. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
