Instructions:

1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.

2. Place clay carbon paper on stand with pattern on top. Trace over pattern lines to transfer design onto stand. Repeat three more times to create four circular patterns overlapping each other. Refer to photo.

3. Brush three coats of Bright Tangerine in two of the circular patterns (opposite each other), leaving the sections where the circles intersect. Refer to photo.

4. Repeat brushing three coats of Bright Grey in the remaining circles, leaving the areas where the circles intersect. Let dry completely.

5. Add a small amount of Bright Grey into a puddle of Bright Tangerine to create a muddy orange color. Using the No. 6 Round, brush three coats of this muddy color onto the sections where the Bright Tangerine and Bright Grey circles intersect.

6. Transfer the spider images onto the sides of the stand where desired. Paint each spider Black, leaving a small section in the center of spider unpainted. Add a few dabs of Bright Tangerine to these unpainted sections to simulate the look of a Black Widow. Let dry.

7. Brush two coats of Pure Brilliance onto underside of stand. Gently sponge a coat of Pure Brilliance onto outside of stand, being careful not to smear colors. Let dry then carefully brush on a second light coat. Let dry completely.

8. Stilt and fire to cone 06.

9. Optional: If you are worried about smearing color when applying clear glaze, fire stand to cone 06 to set Concepts colors then clear glaze entire piece and fire again.

Miscellaneous:
