Tie Dye Curtains
Hey Everyone! Today's post is going to rock your socks off! I'll be showing you how to make your very own tie dye curtains out of a clearance shower curtain! You are for sure going to want to check this one out! It so simple but has killer results! Use different colors of dye depending on the color of your room.
Here is what you will need:
Clearance Shower Curtain (make sure it is cotton)
Dunk your shoer curtain in water and ring it out so it is just damp. This is going to help the fabric absorb the dye. At this point you will also need to choose your tie dye design. I went with the crinkle effect for this project- for that technique all you have to do is bunch up the fabric by pinching in.
Step 2: Apply your dye. Be careful with this because if you use too much dye you won't be able to see the pattern in your finished product, but make sure you don't use too little either.
Step 3: Because shower curtains are rather wide, you are going to be able to get two curtains out of it! Just fold the shower curtain in half. Making sure the top is along the top and not along the side. Then cut down the folded line.
To get a crisp seem, use Aleene's Permanent Fabric Adhesive Tape to the back along the edge. No need to ever learn how to sew when you have this amazing stuff!
Step 5: Fold over the seem as straight as you can for a professional finish! Now you have not one but 2 curtains!!
I love how they look in my room! THe shower curtain that I bought was on clearance for 10 bucks. So for just $10 I was able to make 2 awesome curtains! Thats a sweet DIY deal!
